Physical Education Afternoon Learning

LPS is happy to announce our Physical Education Afternoon Learning (PEAL) program!

Schedule

Session 1 will run through October 30th, and then we will offer registration for Session 2.
K-5 students will participate on Mondays OR Tuesdays.

6th-12th grade students will participate on Wednesdays OR Thursdays.

Students will be grouped together by grade levels (K-2, 3-5, 6-9, 10-12).

Fridays will be used as make up days for inclement weather.

K-5 sites include Hancock Field and Clay Cliffs Natural Area, and maybe others.
Grades 6-12 sites include Houdek Dunes, Herman Park, Hancock Field, Myles Kimmerly,
Weeks 5 and beyond to be announced; we are working on some cool opportunities!

Transportation

The bus(es) will depart at the beginning of afternoon learning time. They will return in time for students to ride a bus home from the school.

Families are able to bring their students to the site for drop off and pick up, but these events themselves are for students only.

High school students will be able to drive to the site as long as a travel variance form is completed and filed with the office.

Announcement of cancellations because of inclement weather will be made by 10:00 am on the day of the activity. We will not cancel for rain only. If it is raining, we will participate! Cancellations will be for lightning, snow/ice, etc.

What to Bring/Wear:

Bring a water bottle, mask, small towel, quick change of clothes. All of this should fit in a small backpack or duffel.

We will follow MHSAA policies and will require students to wear masks at all times when they are unable to socially distance. This includes while they are participating in activities. Dress appropriately for changing weather!

How to Sign-up:

Complete this survey form by 11:59 pm Sunday, September 20 to participate in session 1 (runs through October 30th).

Registrations received after this time will be considered for session 2.

Once registration is complete, the PE program will split students into groups and days, based on a number of variables.
