The Principal's Update

Dear LPS families,
What a great week back at school!
I could share nearly a hundred stories about what made this week great, but I’ll choose just a few:
  • I loved seeing kindergarten parents at the Car Line at the end of the first day. Your parenting job was hard on Tuesday, and I’m so grateful that you share your precious cargo with us!
  • I loved meeting with our middle school and high school groups on Wednesday. Our students were attentive, respectful listeners and there wasn’t a cell phone in sight. I was able to help hand every student their new Macbook devices, which was a personal touchpoint that felt really special!
  • I loved hearing our 5th graders stop me in the hall to brainstorm fun schoolwide events for Elementary. We have some 5th grade leaders ready to make a difference here at school!
  • I loved seeing our seniors at our annual Senior Sunrise Breakfast. This tradition is a special parent-hosted event, and I am always so honored to be invited!
  • I loved seeing our Campus Support Team out to help with every moment: bus, Car Line, recess, crossing guard… rain or shine, they make our school great!
Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend! It’s going to be a great year.
Always here to help,

Auditions

Into the Breeches auditions are coming up next week! Auditions will be held Wednesday, Sept 9th from 3:30 - 5:30 for grades 6th -12th. Readings from the script will be provided.

This is a straight play. There is no singing involved.

Tech forms are currently available outside Mrs. Newman's door and are due Friday, Sept. 11th.

Rehearsals will begin Tuesday, Sept 22nd.

The production will run Nov. 13th - 15th.

This is a beautiful production set during WW2 when the men have gone off to war and the women have come together in New England to put on the theater's productions of Shakespeare's Henry IV parts 1, 2 and Henry V.

While normally the script calls for a very small cast, there are some extra roles and an ensemble being added. Come join us!

Thank you, PTO!

For the first time ever, Elementary students don't need to bring any money from home for the Farmer's Market. Thank you to our PTO for a summer fundraiser to fund $5 vouchers for our K-5 kids for the market!
