The Principal's Update

Dear LPS families,
Fall is here! It was a week of crisp morning recesses and warm midday outdoor learning. We love fall!
Next week on Tuesday is our famous Pop-Up Farmer’s Market, one more sign of fall that is loved by staff and students. Here are some important details for this favorite fall event:
  • Our PTO is generously sponsoring our K-5 students with super cool $5 vouchers. Thanks, PTO! No additional cash should come with elementary students. 
  • The market is in our PAC parking lot, which is closed to students Tuesday. PAC permitted drivers should park in the church lot instead.
  • Parents are welcome to visit the market! Please connect with your child’s teacher for their scheduled time, and sign in at the office when you arrive. Remember that parent visitors should NOT photograph other LPS students, even though they are so, so adorable!

Morning Meetings
We've heard your feedback that evening meetings don't work for all family's schedules, so new this year, the PTO will be offering occasional morning meetings. Join us Tuesday, October 6 at 8:15 am in the LPS Board Room for the next monthly PTO meeting. Enter via the Front Office after morning car line and enjoy provided coffee and treats while learning about current PTO initiatives and ways you can get involved in the LPS community.

LPS PTO has put together a Fall 2026 Athletic Calendar so you can view all Varsity, JV and MS schedules at once! Download yours for free here. Printed copies are available in the main office and at select home games.

The Island School Informational Session

Students in grades 9/10 will have the opportunity to hear from a representative of The Island School on Wednesday, September 30 during Advisory.  This amazing opportunity offers LPS transferable credits to students while taking a semester or summer term in the Caribbean.  The presenter will be available after the presentation 12:30-1pm to meet with any family members that want to learn more.  Please contact Matt Peschel mpeschel@lelandschool.com if interested in making this arrangement.
